Off the Needles 

Stripey Leftovers Hat

  • Pattern: Turn a Square Hat by Jared Flood
  • Yarn: leftovers- Dragonfly Fibers & some mystery black yarn
  • Needles: US 5- 3.75mmimage
  • Pattern: Argent by Hunter Hammersen
  • Needles: US 6-  4mm needles
  • Yarn: Frog Tree Pediboo (sport) color 1130 Jade- 80% Merino, 20% Bamboo
  • Used Jenny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off.
  • Blocked out huge and I love it!image
  • Yarn: Socks that Rock Lightweight in the Pitter Pat Colorway
  • Needles: US 1.5- 2.5mm
  • Pattern: OMG Heel Socks by Megan Williams
  • Cast on 64, 2×2 rib. loving spiral pooling.
  • Decrease to 60 after ribbing and then to 56 about an inch later. almost a striping effect! Made them extra tall
  • Did the Citric Acid Treatment on them. No dye came out.imageimage image
  • Yarn: RAF: Fraternal Twin Brother to RBF- Self striping colorway from Kirby Wirby. 75% Superwash BFL, 25% nylon (first time using BFL)
  • Needles: US 1.5- 2.5mm
  • Pattern: OMG Heel Socks by Megan Williams
  • Did the Citric Acid Treatment on them. No dye came out.image
  • Pattern: Alien by  Hannah Kaminsky
  • Yarn: Miss Babs Yummy 2 ply in the Ghoulish colorway
  • Eyes from 6060 (etsy shop).
  • 2-3 inches tall. Looks just like the photo!image
  • Yarn: Lion Brand. Lion’s Pride Woolspun Bulky-  80% Acrylic, 20% Wool
  • Hook: K 6.5 mmimage
Mom and I discussed some old grant square blankets she made when I was a kid. She thought they were so ugly she wouldn’t even put them together, but my Nana decided they should be finished and seamed them up. We used them in the car when we were kids.image image
For the record Mom thinks granny square blankets with more modern yarns are perfectly nice!
On the Needles
  • Yarn: One Twisted Tree in the Shimmer Base- 93 Diagon Alley Colorway
  • Pattern: OMG Heel Socks by Megan Williams
  • Needles: US 1.5- 2.5mm
  • Green heel. Mini skein from Sarah of YarnGeekFibers. Super Geek base in Temple Grandin colorway.image
  • Pattern: Hallow Moon by Dieuwke van Mulligen
  • Yarn: Ashton Studio Arts Genoa Fingering- Almost Black & trio of peach/salmon mini skeins
  • Needles: US 7- 4.5mm
  • Modification- edge: RS, s1wyif, k1, s1wyif. WS: k1, s1wyif, k1.image
 
  • Yarn: Mirasol Tuhu- DK weight yarn
  • Needles: US 5
  • Provisionally cast on 60 stitches, knitting in the round. Will make a very long tube that kitchener together to make a long infinity cowl.
  • Random striping- gray, aquamarine, chartreuse, cream, hot pink and tangerineimage
  • Yarn: white birch fiber arts. Electric Slide colorway
  • Pattern: OMG Heel Socks by Megan Williams
  • Needles: US 1.5 (2.5mm)image
  • Pattern: Whiz Bang by Sarah S
  • Yarn: Socks that Rock in the Grimm Colorway
  • Needles: US 1.5 (2.5mm)
  • Slipped stitches that are staggered.
  • My first toe up sock. Looking forward to the Bootylicious Heel!image

  • Crochet cowl from blog: Pink Milk. Looks like its knit. Striped up. Would be a great stash buster.
From the Armchair
 
Update on 2015 goals
  • Knit from my well curated stash. Start of year- 97 skeins in Stash.
    • As of Episode 69- I have 45 skeins still in stash from before 2015 (8 of which were items I sold)
    • Finished 22 projects to date. 7 projects still in progress
  • Challenge myself more
    • I’m working on my first pair of toe-up socks
  • Knit for me (meaning knit at least 10 more things for me and keep the ratio from 2014)
    • 9  items so far
Events
  • Participating in Stash Dash- Knit Girllls Podcast
    •      2,888 yards complete= 2640 meters

Knitting in Passing
  • Knitting on socks Will’s baseball game and ended up teaching someone how to Magic Loop
  • Knitting after dinner at the bar at a local restaurant and a friend of a friend asked about knitting and then asked if she could try it! I was impressed with her enthusiasm.
